"The Choir for a Cause"
One of the mainstays of the LICC mission, one that makes us unique among children’s choirs, is our dedication to inspire a sense of philanthropy in each of our young artists, which resonates with our students, their families and our community.

The Long Island Children’s Choir proudly dedicated the 2018-19 Choir for a Cause season to supplying Long Island food pantries with much needed food and diapers. We know that pantries always need to be stocked with food but we were surprised to learn that diaper insecurity was such a massive problem on Long Island.
LICC is proud to be part of the solution by partnering with the Allied Foundation Diaper Bank and Island Harvest. Please join us as we collect food and diapers throughout this choir season.

LICC creates grants for charities benefitting children who are less fortunate through donations earned from LICC performance proceeds or by creating non-performance events on their behalf.

Previous Grant Recipients
United Cerebral Palsy of Nassau and SuffolkAt this event, LICC singers had a unique performance opportunity, coupled with a feel good mission of raising $5000 for a deserving organization. The face to face experience of sharing the stage with the UCP singers truly brought service and artistry together “uniting children in song”.

The Book Fairies In 2015, LICC performed with a world renowned visiting choir and took that opportunity to have a donation-only concert. Concert attendees were asked to bring new or gently used books for The Book Fairies to run free book fairs for children in underserved areas of Long Island.
As a result of our attendees generosity, the LICC was able to make a grant of $1000 and collect hundreds of donated books to The Book Fairies. |
