As many schools are finishing out their final class days, we would like to take one last opportunity to recognize our graduating seniors and wish them good luck in their future endeavors. We are so proud of both of these students and know that they will represent LICC well!
Erica Haguisan will take her talents to the State University of New York at Fredonia and Megan O'Connor will head to Westminster Choir College of Rider University.  Both schools are recognized as outstanding institutions of music education.

Good luck, girls, and thank you from all of us here at LICC! We will miss you!

What a fantastic season! Thank you to all of you for your part in making LICC a great place to sing! With that, we would like to wrap up with our final featured student of the season, Emily Schabel from Lyric Ensemble! Emily is a student at Half Hollow Hills High School East, where she also plays the oboe.

"I sing because music helps me express myself in a way that nothing else can compare to. I enjoy singing in Lyric because I've made new friends all while learning exciting new pieces that I wouldn't be able to learn elsewhere." ~Emily

"Emily is the epitome of the dedicated music student. She comes to each and every rehearsal confident in her part, having clearly practiced, and ready to work. She conducts herself with a level of professionalism that shows maturity far beyond her years. I can always count on Emily to be a leader and am proud to know she is the type of singer out there representing our organization in the community." ~Mrs. Regan

Way to go, Emily!

This post is a bit behind, but we are excited to tell you about our next featured student for the month of April, 3rd grader Jacob Muscolino from Prelude!

"Jacob is always on time, present (pretty perfect attendance), and is attentive during rehearsal. He is always prepared with his music and is polite and courteous to others. A real gem!" ~Mrs. B.

"I sing because it shows people who I am on the inside and not on the outside because if there's one thing to learn in life, it is to be yourself, and never give up!"

Thanks, Jacob, for being such a great representative for LICC!

What an amazing event!  Singers from Toronto's Bach Children's Chorus treated us to some beautiful music, as did our own ensembles.  The evening was also a success for our LICC Grant recipient, The Book Fairies, who received $1000 and 15 boxes of books!

What a wonderful afternoon of LICC singers showing off their solo abilities! We have so many talented students and today's performance was the perfect segue into our newest feature, Student-of-the-Month! Each month, conductors from our four ensembles will select a standout student to be highlighted right here on our Facebook page. Kicking it off for last month, we have Miss Madison Grady from Cantate!

"Madison Grady is a wonderful student. She is a very hard worker, and iskind to others. She is always on time to rehearsal, and never needs to be reminded to do her best." ~Miss Finnerty

What Madi likes best about singing...
"I love to sing because it makes me feel happy and alive. Also, I get to share my joy with other people in song. And finally, I love to sing because I love to be on stage!"

What Madi likes best about LICC...
"I love going to LICC performances and singing in front of audiences. The teachers at the LICC are all very nice! I like that the Cantate Choir (Ensemble) gives me lots of opportunities to sing songs in two or three parts and in different languages."

Congratulations to Madi and thank you for being such a great representative of the organization!

Stay tuned to learn about more of our fabulous singers!
